Peace Research project on 01-03 May, 2018 was conducted DO NO HARM training to the research team. There were 15 participants with “04 ladies” at Diakonia center, Phnom Penh. The objective of the training was to provide the research team learn about the tools of DO NO HARM and the six steps of this tool to reflect on the daily practice to strengthen the team capability in facilitation skill to team members.
The training process was goes through the steps of the DNH: step-1; introduce of the DNH history, context analysis, step-2: analysis on divider factor or source of stress; step-3: connector or a source that leads to peace; step-4: review on the program project; step-5: resource transfer and code of conduct; step-6: create options to mitigate adverse effects. In the training was coaching by DO NO HARM team three trainer team from BfdW Ms. Thavy, Miss. Victory, Ms. Nay, and ACT team Mr. Bunthout, Ms. Sem Chanthea, Ms. Sotheavy.
The participant’s points out that they got the most was step one: context analysis makes it easy to find the context in a project such as its location, conflict, and political situation, the intervention of stakeholders. Divider factor make us see the activities we carry out and find ways to minimize disintegration. The connector factor is the point where they can easily find the source of the relationship in the project. Some of the research team told that related with DO NO HARM tool the most important point is the review of project to make it easier to find out what programs we are implementing, plan, challenge, and creating options for recommendations to the project, situation in the area where the project is carrying out its activities. This tool is help them to view find a solution before implementation and during the process.
Some of them said that: DO NO HARM tool is analyst all side and all project to analyst on impact or challenge in the project. They really interest for this training course because helped me to make clear on the importance of a new tool for analyzing and reflecting action plans, and making it easier to find options and develop options for finding the right solution and not causing conflicts that arise when the project is funded. The research member told that this course it really important because all developments doesn’t mean good so the Do No Harm analysis tool to find way to improve issue.
